Engage at the Nelson Atkins Museum in
two different ways to experience the arts with your family!
First Option: The Nelson Atikins Museum welcomes visitors of all ages to explore the entire regular collection of the museum, including many examples of woodcut prints and Japanese art.
There is no charge. Saturday hours are 10:00am-5:00pm.

Second Option: if your family would like to add to the day’s experiences by visiting the special exhibit, “Hokusai: Waves of Inspiration from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston”,
tickets can be purchased directly from the museum by clicking the poster on the left.
Please note! This event is supported by The Drop.
Use your Drop card online or in person to purchase $10 adult tickets to the special exhibit.
Also, bring your Drop card with you to the museum.
You can use it for free parking in the underground parking garage.
WHIMSICAL WOODCUTS WORKSHOP
Jump into the world of Japanese woodblock printing by creating your own design with natural elements. Using a linoleum block, carved similarly to traditional woodblocks, create your own composition based on Japanese nature themes. Complete your work by adding a Japanese Hanko stamp to your finished composition.

Museum entrance and participation in the Whimsical Woodcuts is free of charge. Your family may enter, participate, and leave the workshop at your own time and pace, during the 1:00-4:00pm activity.
