Over the last 20+ years Dr. Droege has served in leadership roles in the creation and growth of three different charter schools across Southern California and Kansas City, each of which continues serving children today. In her previous role as Founding Executive Director of Citizens of the World Charter School in Kansas City, Kristin was responsible for overseeing and ensuring success of charter approval, finances, facilities, enrollment, hiring, community outreach, Board engagement, and fidelity to the mission and model of the school. Now, at Turn the Page KC, Kristin has shifted her focus to supporting literacy all around our schools through collective impact initiatives that address access to books, quality early childhood education, quality out-of-school-time education, and family engagement in the literacy process.
A native of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Kristin received her undergraduate degree from Duke University, and both her Master’s and Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles. Kristin and her husband, David, have 4 grown children, 5 grandchildren, 3 dogs, 1 cat, and a front porch where company is always welcome.

Lauren Olson thrives on making connections, whether it's the right book in the hands of a young reader or a new partnership between neighborhood organizations. Ms. Katina (Tina) Gill has spent over 15 years working with students of all ages and backgrounds within the public school system and via non-profit organizations. She entered the field of education as a Spanish Teacher, but has also served in the roles of Assistant Principal and Education Specialist.
Through her role as an Education Specialist, she assisted young adults in attaining their GED by not only leveraging community resources to increase literacy and build foundational knowledge, but by helping them reduce personal barriers and identify their “why”. For example, Tina could from time-to-time be seen caring for babies in her office while their parents attended GED classes.
Tina takes education seriously. This not only applied for her students, but made it a priority for herself, earning her undergraduate degree, Master’s, and Ed.S in Primary and Secondary Administration from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
Tina’s happy place is spending time with her family, traveling the world, and experiencing other cultures.
